Bringing Help and Hope to Struggling Churches
Statistics tell us the vast majority of churches in the United States have plateaued or are already in decline.
The sad reality is that many Free Will Baptist churches are in that number. Because of the great need in this area, North American Ministries has partnered with the FWB Executive office and launched the ReFresh Initiative. ReFresh includes a column in each issue of ONE Magazine as well as many different training programs to better equip our FWB pastors and churches including Pastor’s Boot Camp trainings, live seminars, team trainings, and video trainings outlined below.

Church Growth and Leadership Seminars
PASTOR’S TRAINING COURSES
NAM offers several training programs to better equip our pastors and churches. Below is a brief description of the trainings offered and are not listed in any particular order.
Pastor’s Boot Camp Training
Pastor’s boot camp training is typically 2-3 days long, generally held twice per year at our national office building in Nashville, Tennessee. Space is limited so pre-registration is required. Each participant is responsible for their own travel and lodging. Topics covered usually include but are not limited to the following:
- Setting up essential systems for your church
- Values, mission and vision

- Church health
- Encouragement for pastors

Live Seminars
Live seminars are led by Dr. Brad Ransom, Chief Training Officer for FWBNAM at your location by special arrangement. Please contact us for more information. Sessions include but are not limited to:

Team Training
Team training is a 4+ hour, interactive classroom training and is designed to help your leadership team work more effectively together. Prework is required before training for all participants. Sessions are held at your location (prearrangement required), include but are not limited to:

ReFresh
ReFresh is a column in each issue of ONE Magazine that addresses church health and growth issues and is designed to help leaders address these issues. ONE Magazine is released every other month with a free subscription. If you would like to subscribe, contact the NAFWB. The magazine can also be accessed online at www.onemag.org.
ReKindle Coach’s Training
ReKindle is a church revitalization strategy led by the executive office of the NAFWB. There is a cost involved in this program and the executive office can give more information and help guide your church on getting started. There is a six-to-twelve-month commitment to ReKindle as well as working with an assigned coach. ReKindle has 10 strategies that help lead a church through renewal:
- Renewal of the pastor and his wife
- Renewal in prayer
- Renewal in outreach
- Renewal in relationships
- Renewal in stewardship
- Renewal of key documents
- Renewal in discipleship
- Renewal of organizational structure
- Renewal in leadership development
- Renewal through facility assessment
Ongoing Training
NAM provides other training opportunities from time to time such as the POWER Conference and seminars at the NAFWB Leadership conference and National Association meeting. We work hard to provide the most relevant as well as tried-and-true practices that allow churches to be who they are within the context of their local culture.

Fresh Wind – A Guide for Churches
NAM has created a resource for churches that would like to go through an evaluation and revitalization process. This guide is an 82-page manual with video links that will be a self-guided tour through the process. This resource is designed to be led by the pastor and a task force or committee that is willing to commit to a strategic process that will help your church be healthier.
