Travis and Melissa McKenzie
Travis and Melissa McKenzie are lead church planters at Compassion FWB Church in Ashland, Ohio. Though there is a large evangelical presence in this north-central Ohio community, the McKenzies felt led to plant Compassion Church there because roughly 75% of the population is unchurched. This growing community is a mixture of blue-collar workers, college students, and farmers. Compassion is dedicated to the mission of “loving others like Jesus loves us,” and puts these words into practice by meeting physical and spiritual needs in their community each week.
